Built by chemistry teachers who were tired of starting from scratch
Chemistry Toolkit exists because preparing chemistry lessons still means rebuilding, from scratch, worksheets that thousands of other teachers have already made.
Our story
It started as one teacher’s own folder
Chemistry Toolkit is built around the resources one chemistry teacher wrote for her own classes - worksheets, booklets, exam-style papers and the answer packs to go with them, edited every time a lesson showed what wasn’t working.
Most of that lives on teachers’ hard drives, in attachments named “moles worksheet FINAL v3 (use this one)”, and never gets past the department it was written in. The point of the library is to stop everyone else starting from a blank page on the same topic.
The rule from those years still stands: nothing goes in without worked answers, and if it wouldn’t survive being used by a real class on a wet Thursday afternoon, it doesn’t go in at all.
It’s a small operation, and that’s deliberate - it means the person answering your email is usually the person who wrote the resource you’re asking about.
What we believe
The rules that decide what goes in the library
Teacher-written, always
Every resource is written and checked by someone who has taught the specification it covers. Nothing is scraped, crowd-uploaded or generated and left unread.
Answers are half the resource
A worksheet without worked solutions is homework for the teacher. Everything in the library ships with answers that show the method, not just the result.
Evidence-informed, not fashionable
Retrieval practice, spaced review and misconception-first teaching are built into the resource types themselves - because the evidence for them is boring and overwhelming.
Fair prices, no lock-in
